# Call Recording

**Who should read this article**: Administrators

Voiso automatically records all voice interactions and stores the recordings in the Call Detail Record (CDR) according to your call retention policy.

## Accessing recordings

Voiso automatically records all voice interactions and stores the recordings in the Call Detail Record ([CDR](/v1/docs/reporting-cdr)) for your contact center. You can listen to a call recording by searching for a specific call and then selecting it. Refer to [Using the CDR](/v1/docs/supervisor-workflows-using-the-cdr#use-case-cdr-call-recordings).

To access call recordings, **Disable recordings download** must be unselected for the [user's account](/v1/docs/users-users).

## Deleting recordings

Some local or regional regulations, such as PCI, DSS, GDPR, CCPA, and so on, require the periodic deletion of call recordings. Use the **[Delete recordings](/v1/docs/administration-delete-recordings)** feature to remove call recordings from your contact center CDR database.

## Pausing recordings

To be compliant with privacy regulations, agent accounts [can be configured](/v1/docs/users-users) to allow the agent to pause call recording while handling an interaction. Select **Enable selective recording** to enable a user to manually pause and restart recording while on a call using the **Rec** button in the **[Agent Panel](/v1/docs/agent-panel)**.

## Replicating call recordings to Amazon S3

          Important

The Voiso call recording replication to Amazon S3 feature is available for contact centers on the Pro plan or higher.

If you use [Amazon Simple Storage Service](https://aws.amazon.com/s3/?nc2=h_ql_prod_fs_s3) (S3), you can replicate your Voiso call recordings and transcripts for storage and client-side processing. Refer to the Voiso developer documentation for details about using [Call Redordings Replication to S3](https://developers.voiso.com/#/rest/amazon-integrations/call-recordings-replication-to-s3).

Voiso maintains a Call Detail Record (CDR) of every interaction. Each includes information about the interaction that you can use to analyze the performance of your contact center, your agents, and your routing strategies. Unlike many other contact center applications, the Voiso CDR also includes a recording and/or transcript of each interaction, enabling you to access even more information about each interaction.
